Former Sunderland and Wigan Athletic star Max Power has departed Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Power helped Al-Qadsiah to win promotion up to the Saudi Pro League last season and was recently in pre-season training with the club to prepare for the new campaign.

Al-Qadsiah though have big financial backing now as they are owned by Saudi petroleum company Saudi Aramco.

They are keen to make a splash in the Saudi Pro League and are embarking upon an ambitious recruitment drive.

Power though, a former Sunderland and Wigan star, will not be part of the push as he has left the club.

The 30-year-old will be looking for another club to join this summer and is likely to have options in England.

He had two spells at Wigan, with a stint at Sunderland in between.

Power won the League One title at Wigan three times during his spells, while he also picked up the EFL Trophy during his time at Sunderland.
