Salford City are set to hold talks over signing Sunderland goalkeeper Matthew Young on a loan deal this summer, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
A product of the Sunderland academy, Young has been featuring for their Under-18s and Under-21s side.
Young is itching to get some action at senior level and the club are rumoured to be considering loaning him out this summer.
A few clubs have been keeping tabs on the teenage goalkeeper and Salford have come forward to try and sign him.
It has been claimed that the League Two side are interested in signing the 17-year-old on a loan deal in the ongoing transfer window.
Young is intrigued at the possibility of joining Salford if he is promised first-team minutes at the League Two side next season.
Salford will hold talks about possibly signing the Sunderland starlet this week.
It remains to be seen whether the League Two side can make an enticing offer to Sunderland and Young.
