Celtic are facing difficulties in landing a defender they have targeted as the player’s club are ‘choosing not to engage’ with the Bhoys over a possible transfer, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Brendan Rodgers wants to bring in another left-back this summer after resolving Celtic’s goalkeeping need by signing Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo.
Wolves star Hugo Bueno is the man that Celtic have been trying to do a deal for and it emerged earlier this week they have held talks about a swoop.
Celtic are facing an issue though as Wolves are ‘choosing not to engage’ over a possible move for Bueno.
The Premier League side have not yet decided if they want to let him leave on loan and are not rushing to make a decision.
Bueno, 21, made 21 appearances in the Premier League for Wolves last season and was booked once.
He gives Gary O’Neil a valuable option at left-back and is also able to operate further down the left flank if needed.
Wolves will have to decide if they can do without the Spaniard for their squad next season, but it is unclear how long Celtic will continue to wait.
