Liverpool being keen on landing a player who played at Euro 2024 this summer has been played down, with the transfer talk ‘just a rumour’ for now.

The Reds under new manager Arne Slot, are planning to restock their squad for the challenge next season, but they have yet to make a single signing and questions are being asked about how much the Dutchman will be backed.

The club could look towards adding a midfielder, especially in light of Wataru Endo now being a wanted man.

Liverpool have been linked with PSV Eindhoven midfielder Joey Veerman, who played in all the Netherlands’ games at Euro 2024.

If Liverpool are interested in Veerman then they have not done anything about it yet and interest is ‘just a rumour’, according to Dutch daily the Eindhovens Dagblad.

There has been no contact from Liverpool with PSV Eindhoven about Veerman.

The Reds have also not touched base with Veerman’s representatives.

Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is also being linked with a move away from Liverpool and the Reds may soon need to bring in a new midfielder.

It remains to be seen if they turn to Veerman.
