One of Celtic’s out of favour stars ‘wasn’t ready’ for a move back to his homeland this summer and has snubbed an approach.

Celtic have cranked up their transfer work and are now rapidly closing in on adding Adam Idah to the ranks after agreeing a fee with Norwich City.

The Bhoys are looking to offload players who do not feature in Brendan Rodgers’ plans and centre-back Gustaf Lagerbielke is amongst them.

He is of interest to several Italian sides, but Swedish giants Malmo made an attempt to bring Lagerbielke back to his homeland.

The defender though ‘wasn’t ready’ for a switch back into Swedish football and snubbed Malmo, according to Swedish daily Expressen.

Malmo currently sit top of the Swedish top flight, which is in full swing and just over half of the way through.

They were keen to bring back Lagerbielke, who has failed to make an impact during his time at Celtic Park.

Where Lagerbielke will end up this summer remains to be seen, however he looks to have little prospect of regular games if he stays in Glasgow.
