Manchester City have an agreement on a five-year deal with one of Liverpool’s stars and are prepared to fork out €70m for him, it has been claimed in Spain.

The Cityzens have just brought in a substantial sum of money by selling Julian Alvarez to Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

Pep Guardiola is keen for signings and the club appear to be plotting an audacious transfer raid on rivals Liverpool which would rock the Premier League.

The man they want is none other than Barcelona target Luis Diaz.

According to Spanish TV programme El Chiringuito, Manchester City have agreed a five-year deal with Diaz and Liverpool are ‘already looking for a replacement’.

Manchester City are said to be willing to pay €70m to Liverpool for the services of Diaz.

Having failed to sign a single player so far this summer, Liverpool would run the real risk of angering their fans if Diaz was sold to Manchester City.

Liverpool were hoping to land midfielder Martin Zubimendi, but he has just snubbed a switch to Anfield in favour of staying at Real Sociedad.

Diaz has regularly been flagged up as a player Liverpool could sell soon; he has three years left on his deal.
