Fulham have tabled an opening offer for Lyon attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki, who is also a target for Crystal Palace, according to The Athletic.

Lyon have been looking to move on the France Under-21 international this summer and he is expected to leave before next week’s transfer deadline.

Paris Saint-Germain had a deal in place to sign him earlier in the window but the player was receptive to interest from Borussia Dortmund, who never made a bid.

It emerged earlier this week that Fulham and Crystal Palace are interested in signing the attacking midfielder before next week’s transfer deadline.

It has been claimed that Fulham have now gone in with a concrete offer for the French star.

The Cottagers have put in a bid worth £12m to try and take Cherki to West London in the coming days.

Palace are still keen but are yet to table an offer for the player who is looking at his options.

Fulham are also facing the challenge of convincing the player who is said to be not warming up to the idea of joining either the Cottagers or Crystal Palace.
