Charlton Athletic are set to snap up Luton Town midfielder Allan Campbell on a loan deal, according to the South London Press.

Nathan Jones has been keen to continue strengthening his squad in anticipation of a big push for promotion in League One this season.

He is now set to raid one of his former sides for another body in the shape of Campbell.

The Luton midfielder was linked with a possible move to Dundee United earlier this summer, but has been keen to stay in England.

He will do that by switching to Charlton and he is poised to join the Addicks on a loan deal.

It is unclear whether there will be any option for Charlton to hold on to Campbell permanently included in the loan agreement.

Campbell, 26, spent last season on loan at Millwall in the Championship, but had an injury interrupted campaign.

He ended the season with 12 appearances in the Championship to his name and two assists.
