Aston Villa have reached a verbal agreement with Valencia to loan out Enzo Barrenechea to the Spanish club this summer.

The Argentinian midfielder joined Villa as part of the deal that saw Douglas Luiz join Juventus earlier in the transfer window.

Barrenechea was involved in Aston Villa’s pre-season games but failed to make the matchday squads in their first two Premier League fixtures.

The 23-year-old is not a major part of Unai Emery’s plans and Valencia have been in talks to take him to Spain on loan.

According to Spanish radio station Tribuna Deportiva, an agreement in principle is now in place between the two clubs.

Valencia have reached a verbal deal to sign the midfielder on loan from Aston Villa in the ongoing transfer window.

The two sides will now hope to finalise the terms of the agreement and draw up the paperwork for the loan move.

The Argentinian is expected to travel to Spain soon to finalise his loan switch to the Spanish side ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
