Manuel Ugarte will not feature for Manchester United against Liverpool this weekend, with the club yet to register him, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Manchester United have been working to sign Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain and the deal is expected to be done.

Hopes were high that they could have the Uruguayan signed and registered in time to make his debut against Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.

That will not happen though as Manchester United are still finalising the deal and Ugarte has not been registered.

Manchester United are suggested to have felt that getting him in line to face the Reds would have been a stretch.

The indication is also that Ugarte would not have been ready to start or play a big role as he has had a lack of game time over the course of pre-season.

Manchester United will now look to make sure Ugarte is ready for their game after the international break.

The Red Devils are due to travel to Southampton in the Premier League after the international break.
