Real Sociedad and Villarreal have made a late move to try and sign West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd on loan tonight, according to ExWHUEmployee.

Aguerd has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia with West Ham also keen to move him on this summer.

However, the Moroccan never really warmed up to the idea of moving to the Middle East and it seemed earlier today that the defender would stay at West Ham

But with hours left in the window, the defender is now likely to move to Spain in a deadline-day move.

It has been claimed that Real Sociedad and Villarreal are interested in getting their hands on the centre-back in the coming hours.

Talks are ongoing with West Ham and Sociedad are leading the chase to sign the Moroccan in the coming hours.

The deal is likely to be an initial loan with an option to buy but the negotiations are still ongoing.

Spain has been the preferred destination for Aguerd and the defender is waiting for an agreement to be in place to move to La Liga.
