Ex-Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has insisted that he likes Reds boss Arne Slot’s personality and he praised the Dutchman for not trying to be like Jurgen Klopp.

Slot was appointed as Liverpool’s new boss after Klopp left the club in the summer after managing the Reds for nine years.

The Dutch boss, though, has taken over seamlessly as the Anfield outfit are currently sitting top of the table with an eight-point lead.

Former Liverpool midfielder Adam feels Slot’s calm nature helps the club stay calm as he insisted the Reds boss is the face of the club.

Adam hailed Slot for not trying to imitate Klopp and also thinks the Dutchman is keeping his feet on the ground.

“What I love about Arne Slot is, he is not coming in and trying to be Jurgen Klopp”, Adam said on LFC TV after the win at Southampton.

“He is his own man. He is not one to fist pump, I think he got a little bit more excited today than he normally does because he knows it is a big result.

“But he has to be his self, he cannot be Jurgen Klopp.

“That is what got the connection between Jurgen Klopp and the supporters; Arne Slot will do that in a different way by winning games and by having this team well-drilled.

“But he knows as a manager, there is nothing won yet.

“And maybe when he wins something we might see a different side of him, but he is there to do a job.

“I just like how calm he is. He is the focal, he is the face of the football club, so his calmness allows everybody to be calm around the football club.”

Slot’s men have a difficult week ahead as the Reds are set to face Real Madrid in the Champions League midweek and Manchester City in the Premier League at the weekend.
