Inter Milan manager Walter Mazzarri is planning to use today's meeting with new president Erick Thohir to outline a bold January move for Southampton's Pablo Osvaldo.

Mazzarri has always been keen to bring Osvaldo over to the San Siro, though Southampton's summer recruit may not be easily let go of.

He was bought by the Saints for a reported €15m and it remains to be seen if they will cave under fresh pressure.

And according to Tuttosport, Mazzarri will be speaking with Thohir later today to discuss the winter transfer market, particularly around Osvaldo's situation.

The 27-year-old has made nine Premier League appearances and is contracted until 2017.

It is believed that sporting director Piero Ausilio and technical director Marco Branca will also be present at the meeting as Inter prepare for the financial start of a new era.

Thohir took up majority control of Inter back in October and was installed as the new president earlier this month.

He is expected to fund a few major transfers, especially with Inter fighting to regain their place among the top four in the Serie A.
