Juventus have ended any possibility of Arturo Vidal moving anytime soon by handing him a contract extension until 2017.

The midfielder, whose previous deal was set to expire in 2016, had hinted strongly at the decision yesterday, with club CEO Giuseppe Marotta having done the same.

The renewal brings an end to months of speculation around Vidal, who became linked with Real Madrid after claiming it would be "nice" to play for the La Liga giants.

The Old Lady have put paid to any of those hopes, and a club statement today read: "Juventus Football Club is pleased to announce that Arturo Vidal has today put pen to paper on an extended contract which keeps him with the club until 2017.
