Former Real Madrid and Liverpool striker Fernando Morientes believes there is "no doubt" that Cristiano Ronaldo should win this year's FIFA Ballon d'Or.

Ronaldo appears to be in a two-way battle for the accolade with Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery, with Lionel Messi having dipped to third in the betting.

The Ballon d'Or will be handed out at a FIFA gala on 13th January and Morientes feels that Ronaldo should be crowned as the world's best player at the event.

Morientes told Spanish Europa Press: "For me and for many people there is no doubt that Cristiano deserves the Ballon d'Or.
