Borussia Dortmund look set to be without the services of winger Jakub Blaszczykowski for the remainder of the season.

The Poland international has suffered a tear in his anterior cruciate ligament, picked up against Augsburg in the Bundesliga yesterday; the match ended as a 2-2 draw.

The type of injury Blaszczykowski has picked up usually requires a period of between six and nine months on the sidelines.

That will end the winger's season and only result in him returning for the 2014/15 campaign.

The news is yet another blow for Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp, who has seen a number of players out with injury.

Dortmund sit third in the Bundesliga at present with 33 points collected from 18 games.

Klopp's men are a substantial 14 points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.
