AC Milan boss Clarence Seedorf has welcomed the arrival of Michael Essien at the club and believes the midfielder's experience will be vital.

Essien has penned an 18-month contract with the Rossoneri and joins on a free transfer from Chelsea.

He lands in a dressing room with morale sky high following Milan's second successive Serie A win, both having come under new coach Seedorf.

And the Dutchman is delighted with his acquisition.

"He is a great warrior", Seedorf told Sportmediaset.

"He has experience and will help us on the pitch and in the dressing room."

Seedorf also brushed off questions on whether any more players will be signed this month, insisting that is a question for CEO Adriano Galliani.

"Galliani is available to answer these questions!", he joked.
