Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has stressed his desire to sample the upcoming Merseyside derby against Everton.

Being a veteran of many such rivalries, the Ivory Coast defender is very well aware of the impact such games can have both on the fans as well as on the players.

Speaking to the club's official website Toure said: "There is always a different feel to these kind of games but as players we need to just concentrate on our jobs."

The 32-year-old has already represented Arsenal against Tottenham, and turned out for Manchester City against Manchester United, and is therefore not new to the scenarios such games can present.

"I haven't tried the Liverpool one but hopefully this will be my chance,

"I didn't play at Goodison but it was a great game to watch. Both teams have great managers who want their teams to attack."

Toure joined Liverpool last July on a free transfer from Manchester City and has appeared in 14 league matches for the Reds since then.
