Manchester United manager David Moyes has promised to stem the club's decline and explained he simply will not accept their performance levels so far this season.

Despite having won the Premier League at a canter last season under Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United find themselves just seventh in the table this term and a whopping 14 points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Combined with that they are also out of the FA Cup (beaten by Swansea) and the League Cup (put out by Sunderland at the semi-final stage) and Moyes is far from happy.

"I am not going to accept it", he said via his club's site.

"I am disappointed we are not in a much stronger position. I am disappointed with how we have played.

"I ultimately take the rap for that – and I will do.

"But what I will do is make it right. I am going to get better players in. There will be more [signings to follow Juan Mata]."

Manchester United are next in action this evening when Cardiff City provide the opposition at Old Trafford in a Premier League clash.
