Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Championship side Bournemouth over the sale of Adam Smith.

The defender, who is a product of Spurs' youth system, has enjoyed a number of spells on loan away from White Hart Lane.

Smith has turned out for Wycombe Wanderers, Torquay, Bournemouth, MK Dons, Leeds, Millwall and Derby, over a four-year period.

Now the right-back will continue his career on a permanent basis with Bournemouth in England's second tier.

Smith has been a regular fixture in England's youth teams in recent years.

The 22-year-old has represented his country at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level.
