Liverpool have failed in their bid to sign Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka.

The Premier League giants had officials working on the deal in the Ukraine throughout the day, with reports even filtering through that suggested a deal had been all but done.

Indeed, Konoplyanka was even mooted as having undergone a medical in the Ukraine ahead of the deal being complete.

However, first word leaked out of both clubs failing to come to an agreement on the financial details of the transfer.

While there is not thought to have been disagreement over the transfer fee figure itself, the schedule of payments was in dispute, with Dnipro wanting the cash up front.

In the end, according to the BBC, Dnipro's owner refused to sign off on the deal, meaning that Konoplyanka stays put in the Ukraine and Liverpool miss out on a transfer target yet again.

Mohamed Salah had been their primary target this month, but the Egyptian winger moved to Chelsea.
