The big-money summer signing has had a productive impact, scoring 13 goals in 21 league games, and will be a loss for PSG when they travel to Monaco on 9th February.

Blanc preferred to put a positive spin on the injury though, telling a press conference: "He is suffering from a muscular problem in the upper thigh.

"We'll see how the injury evolves, but it will be too tight for Nantes and Monaco.

"When you are injured, you must take the positive side of things. Edinson is going to rest physically and psychologically.

"He has given a lot since the beginning of the season. This [injury] is unfortunate for him and for us, but we must deal with it."

PSG, who are five points clear as Ligue 1 leaders, will take on Nantes in the French league cup semi-final tomorrow night.
