Galatasaray have completed the loan signing of Boca Juniors centre-back Guillermo Burdisso, and retain the option to purchase him this summer.

The Turkish outfit had begun talks yesterday over Burdisso, who spent a disappointing half-season at Roma once.

He is the younger brother of another former Roma man in Nicolas Burdisso, who went on to play for Inter Milan and Genoa.

Galatasaray will be paying both Boca Juniors and Guillermo Burdisso respective payments for the transaction, details for which were confirmed late last night.

"An agreement has been reached with Boca Juniors over the player Guillermo Burdisso, for the temporary transfer for the second half of the 2013/14 season," Galatasaray said via a statement.

"Accordingly, the player's club will be paid $250,000 (approximately €185,000, ed.) as a transfer fee and the player will be given a signing-on fee of €300,000

"The club have the option of purchasing him for €3m in June, 2014."
