Bafetimbi Gomis has denied signing a pre-contract with anyone despite having just a few months left on his Lyon contract.

Gomis, who has been heavily linked with Newcastle United and Besiktas, is leaving his future wide open at the moment.

It is a slight turnaround from both last summer and this January when an exit, especially to the Premier League, was looking very likely.

Indeed, Newcastle had twice attempted bids last summer only for financial disagreements to scupper the deal.

For now, Gomis was quoted by L'Equipe as saying: "I have not signed any pre-contract with anyone. I can pretty much go, as I can very well stay.

"I play with the mindset of a player who loves his club and respects his contract.

"I would not want to give the impression that my head is somewhere else.

"I'm still proud to wear these colours and I have a lot of ambitions with OL. So don't expect me to give up."
