Liverpool and Manchester City have talent spotters at the Viareggo Tournament in Italy, with their eyes on Hellas Verona midfielder Mohamed Fares.

Verona's youngsters were taking on Lazio's youngsters in the tournament and scouts from the two English Premier League clubs were watching the 17-year-old, according to Tutto Mercato.

The Viareggo Tournament is often identified as a place to scout young talents and this year has proven to be no different.

Fares, a French midfielder with Algerian roots, is highly rated at Verona.

The midfielder has made 13 appearances for the Rossoblu's Primavera side so far this season, scoring three goals in the process.

Verona will be reluctant to lose the 17-year-old before he has had a chance to make a first team impact.

However, with interest from Liverpool and Manchester City, the Serie A outfit may have a fight on their hands for Fares sooner rather than later.
