Thiago Alcantara believes there is no way that Bayern Munich are starting to play like Barcelona did under Pep Guardiola.

The appointment of the Spaniard at the Allianz Arena in the summer raised expectations that Bayern Munich would soon start to play in the same tiki-taka style as Barcelona did when Guardiola was at the Camp Nou.

But Thiago, who made the same trip as Guardiola, from Barcelona to Bayern Munich, feels there is certainly no way the Bavarians are playing like the Catalans.

"People say that Bayern have adopted the Barca style under Guardiola, but that's nonsense", the midfielder told TZ.

Thiago has clocked up nine appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich so far this term, while also turning out for the European champions twice in the Champions League.

Thiago's contract at the Allianz Arena runs until the summer of 2017, with the Bavarians very publicly beating Manchester United to his signature last year.
