QPR boss Harry Redknapp has dubbed Manchester United's current troubles "a blip" and backed the Premier League champions to bounce back strongly.

Having made the transition from the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson to David Moyes, life has been far from smooth sailing at Old Trafford.

Out of the League Cup and the FA Cup, Manchester United had further salt poured into their wounds last weekend when Stoke City inflicted an eighth league loss of the season upon them.

The Red Devils appear to be floundering – but Redknapp thinks that must surely be a very temporary situation.

The former Tottenham manager told Manchester United's official site: "United have a great tradition and I am sure they will come back as strong as ever.

"They have had a blip but I'm sure they will rebuild now and come back strongly."

Manchester United are next in action this coming Sunday when they welcome struggling Fulham to Old Trafford.

The game will see Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen return to the club he served as first team coach under Sir Alex Ferguson.
