Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has revealed that winger Andros Townsend is in line to return to action in his side’s crucial Premier League fixture against Everton on Sunday.

The winger, who was in great form for Spurs in the early part of the present campaign, has been sidelined since picking up a hamstring injury against West Ham on 15th December.

However, the 22-year-old returned to full training this week and is back in contention to play against Everton at White Hart Lane after missing nine matches in all competitions for his side.

“We’re positive on Andros and he has a chance (for Everton), he’s up for selection”, Sherwood explained to his club’s official site.

“He’s champing at the bit to return.”

Sherwood further revealed that Mousa Dembele, who missed Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Hull City with an ankle injury at the weekend, would be available against Everton.

“He’s fine. He’s back out training again and he’s in the frame to start against Everton.”

Tottenham, who are currently sixth in the Premier League with 44 points from 24 outings, are a place and a point adrift of Everton.
