Christian Eriksen does not underestimate the importance of Tottenham's match against Everton on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs sit sixth in the Premier League table, just one place and one point below Everton. Both have aspirations of finishing in the top four this term and, with only 14 games left to play, three points could prove vital.

That is a fact not lost on Eriksen, who told his club's site: "It is a really important game.

"Last time [we played Everton, a 0-0 draw] we started really well and I think in the first half we should have been in front.

"Then they got into the game but we still had our chances, especially in the first half when we played really good. So I think there are possibilities this time to make our chances count."

The Danish midfielder also believes that the Toffees will arrive at White Hart Lane full of confidence, something which brings with it its own problems.

"All the teams in the Premier League are hard to break down of course, but Everton are on a run and they’ve got a lot of confidence. But we know what we are capable of and hopefully it’s going to be a good game", Eriksen remarked.
