Kevin Strootman's agent has insisted his client is happy at Roma as talk of Manchester United rears its head again.

Manchester United were strongly linked with Strootman last summer, but Roma stole in ahead of the Red Devils to bag the Dutchman from PSV Eindhoven; the Red Devils had initially concentrated on signing Thiago Alcantara, who eventually joined Bayern Munich.

It has emerged that Manchester United were ready to pay €25m for Strootman last month, but Roma knocked them back, quoting €40m as a minimum.

And amid that backdrop, the midfielder's agent has declared his client's loyalty to the Giallorossi.

"Kevin is very happy in Rome", Chiel Dekker told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"He loves both the club and the city", he continued.

"He plans to stay a long time."

Roma currently sit second in the Serie A standings, having taken 50 points from 21 games, well on course to qualify for next season's Champions League.
