Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm has slapped down team-mate Toni Kroos, telling him he must accept whatever decisions coach Pep Guardiola makes.

Kroos was unhappy after being substituted against Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this month, throwing his gloves at the bench. And Guardiola has had him sat on the bench for the last two games.

That has only added to the speculation surrounding Kroos, who has a contract which expires in 2015 and who is firmly in Manchester United's crosshairs as a summer signing.

But Lahm thinks that the midfielder needs to learn to accept the coach's decisions.

Lahm told reporters: "It is not nice for Toni, that is of course obvious.

"But the coach makes the decisions and everyone has to accept them."

Kroos will become increasingly concerned if he continues to warm the bench in the run-up to the World Cup, where he has been hoping to star for Germany.

The 24-year-old has clocked up 18 Bundesliga appearances so far this term, but on ten occasions he has found himself substituted before the 90-minute mark.
