Carlo Ancelotti admits he is delighted that Real Madrid have booked a spot in the final of the Copa del Rey after seeing off Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid led 3-0 from the first-leg going into the Vicente Calderon encounter and quickly ensured there would be no famous comeback from their crosstown rivals, as Cristiano Ronaldo converted penalties in the seventh and 16th minutes.

Ancelotti's men ran out 2-0 winners, meaning a 5-0 aggregate scoreline. And all in all, the Italian was pleased with the evening's work.

"The advantage gained from the first-leg helped to determine this evening's match", he told a press conference.

"This is an important trophy for us.

"Now we are in the final and that was an important objective. The Copa del Rey is important here and all teams have done their best to try to reach the final."

The Real Madrid boss was also pleased to see Ronaldo score.

"Cristiano was very good and he scored two important goals."
