Atletico Madrid managing director Clemente Villaverde is hoping the club don't face any action after insisting the person who threw a lighter at Cristiano Ronaldo had been identified.

Ronaldo was subject to the strange incident when players from Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid were walking off the field for half-time in their Copa del Rey semi-final second-leg clash yesterday.

The Portuguese, who had scored both goals in the first half, had been booked for a heavy tackle on Atletico Madrid's Javier Manquillo, which may have prompted the crowd reaction.

Atletico Madrid are in danger of sanctions from the Spanish federation, with a potential stadium ban, but Villaverde has attempted to mend fences.
