Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has explained that his side are expecting a tight game against Arsenal in the FA Cup at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Reds, who beat the Gunners 5-1 in a Premier League fixture at the weekend, followed it up with a 3-2 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage yesterday.

On the other hand, Arsenal somewhat recovered from the thrashing after playing out a goalless draw with Manchester United in yesterday’s other game.

And Gerrard, who feels Arsenal were hurt by the 5-1 loss, insisted that the happenings at Anfield will bear no effect on the upcoming FA Cup fixture.

"Top sides, when they get beat 5-1, they are hurt", the Reds skipper told his club’s official site.

"They have just battled to a 0-0 draw against Manchester United so they have showed they have defended quite well in the game.

"We're expecting a tight game at the Emirates and I think the 5-1 game will have no bearing on this game coming. We're expecting a really tough game.”

Gerrard further declared that Liverpool will gave their all against Arsenal as the Merseyside club have set sights on a good cup run this term.

"It's a break from the league and we'll go there and give it everything we've got because we want a good cup run."
