Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has revealed that it is too early to talk about the Premier League title, following their 3-2 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage yesterday.

The win helped the Reds to consolidate fourth spot as they now have 53 points from 26 games, just four points off top spot.

However, with 12 rounds of matches still to be played, Skrtel insists that Liverpool are unwilling to talk about the title.

The Slovakian international explained that his side’s primary objective is to finish the season in a Champions League spot.

"We don't want to talk about the title – there are still too many games to play”, Skrtel told his club’s official site.

“We are going from game to game, trying to get as many points as we can and then we'll see where we finish at the end of the season.

“Our main target is to get into the top four and I hope we can get there."

Although Skrtel was pleased with the manner in which Liverpool twice came from behind to snatch victory against Fulham, the defender urged his side to defend better in their upcoming games.

"We were losing twice and got back into the game to get three points. We're very happy about that”, he added.

“We know that the performance wasn't the best, but the most important thing is the three points. We can defend better.”
