Midfielder Tom Cleverley has dubbed his side's performance against Arsenal on Wednesday night as "classic Manchester United".

The Red Devils eked out a 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium against the Gunners, with Cleverley and company having some opportunities despite Arsenal enjoying the lion's share of the possession and many more shots on goal.

And amid all the gloom which has lingered at Old Trafford due to a lacklustre league campaign which has the club eleven points off fourth place, Cleverley is taking the positives.

"I think we take confidence from the fact that we didn't really looked like conceding", he told his club's site.

"We were solid and it felt like a classic Manchester United away performance where we hit teams on the counter-attack", he added.

Cleverley however does feel that both teams grabbing a point from the Premier League contest was fair when all said and done.

"Unfortunately the goal just didn't come for us", he said.

"They probably had more of the ball but we had the best chance of the game, so I'd say it was a fair result."
