Time could be up for Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood in the summer after it was claimed that the English side have reached an agreement with Italy coach Cesare Prandelli to take over after the World Cup.

According to Italian daily La Repubblica, Spurs have thrashed out a deal with Prandelli over a multi-year contract to succeed Sherwood.

The Italy coach has been just one of the names mentioned in connection with the Tottenham job, along with Holland national team boss Louis van Gaal and Ajax manager Frank de Boer.

Sherwood succeeded Andre Villas-Boas earlier this season and has revitalised Spurs, leading their charge to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Speculation about his future rumbles on though and the latest claims that Prandelli will take charge are not likely to stabilise the ship at White Hart Lane.

The 56-year-old took over as Italy coach in 2010, leading the country to the final of Euro 2012, where they lost to Spain.
