Galatasaray coach Roberto Mancini has admitted that his side played "very badly" against Chelsea this evening in their crucial Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge, which they lost 2-0.

Mancini's men had drawn the first leg of their Round of 16 tie 1-1 in Turkey, but quickly fell behind in the return as Samuel Eto'o rifled the ball home in just four minutes.

Galatasaray were then handed an uphill task when Gary Cahill scored three minutes before half-time.

The Turkish champions rarely troubled Chelsea all evening, leading to Mancini bemoaning his side's performance on the biggest stage of all.

"We really played very, very badly", the Italian admitted to the BBC.

"Chelsea were the better side and they converted the opportunities they got.

"It's impossible to score with just one shot on goal. We need to take several steps in order to be a better team", Mancini concluded.
