David Moyes has reiterated that he has a "big job" at Manchester United after watching his side beat Olympiacos 3-0 to progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The English champions had produced an abject performance in the first leg in Greece to go down to a 2-0 defeat which meant they started the evening at Old Trafford with the odds stacked against them.

But a well-taken hat-trick from striker Robin van Persie fired Moyes' men through 3-2 on aggregate, dumping the Greeks out and booking a quarter-final spot.

However, while Moyes was keen to salute the victory, he was also at pains to point out that the task he has at Old Trafford is going to take time; the club are currently seventh in the Premier League.

"People will probably think it's a turning point in people's careers. But I know what I've got in the club here and the club know what they've got here", he told Sky Sports.

"I've got a big job and I'm not going to be able to do it all immediately.

"We know that we've got a lot of work to do here. [But] we've had a great result tonight."
