Dimitar Berbatov has expressed his delight to be on the books at French Ligue 1 side Monaco.

The Bulgarian striker moved to the principality club on loan from English outfit Fulham in the January transfer window and has seen his role only grow in importance due to a season-ending injury suffered by Radamel Falcao.

And Berbatov is thoroughly enjoying turning out for Monaco.

He said via the club's site: "The team is young and will still keep growing. To be part of this project is something very exciting for me.

"There's lots of talent in the team and it's only going to increase in the coming seasons."

The striker, who has scored twice in five Ligue 1 appearances, along with providing three assists, has praised the way he has been welcomed at the Stade Louis II.

"My integration was very easy because I was so well received", he said.
