Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has insisted that the teams are scared of Luis Suarez and believes that the striker deserves to be the Premier League’s Player of the Year.

The Reds number 7, who scored a hat-trick during his side’s 6-3 win over Cardiff City last weekend, has been in tremendous form throughout the season, with 28 goals in 25 league appearances; the Uruguayan also has 20 assists to his name.

The 27-year-old, who has put Liverpool in the race for their first title since 1990, has been tipped as the candidate to sweep most of the player of the year awards this season, and the Danish international believes his colleague is worthy of all the accolades.

"Luis has got everything”, Agger was quoted as saying by his club’s official site.

"What he does on the pitch is unbelievable and every team in the league is afraid of him and rightly so.

"Without a doubt, he has to be the Footballer of the Year. It is not only his goals and assists, but also his work-rate for the team",  he added.

Liverpool, currently third in the Premier League, are just four points behind table leaders Chelsea, and will take on Sunderland at Anfield today as they look to continue their title challenge.
