Xabi Alonso still believes that Real Madrid have a chance to win La Liga this season despite suffering back-to-back defeats against Barcelona and Sevilla respectively.
Speaking after the defeat against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, Alonso accepts that the task in hand is difficult and the "margin for error is minimal."

According to the former Liverpool midfielder, Real Madrid need to show imperious form for the rest of the season and "win every game left to play."
The Spanish international believes that ‘lady luck’ was not on their side in the match against Sevilla.

"They had two counterattacks and not much else. We had a lot more attacks, but it wasn't to be”, the Real Madrid midfielder told Marca and admitted that it was his mistake that led to one of the Sevilla goals.
Alonso accepts that Los Blancos have no choice but to "need to keep believing".
"We have to prove on the pitch that we're capable of winning games to close the gap as soon possible and regain the defensive solidity we had before,"
Alonso is not ready to make excuses concerning Real Madrid missing crucial players like Sergio Ramos and Angel di Maria.
"There is no point in looking at the ones who aren't here, because this is a team", he said.
Real Madrid hope to put their title challenge back on track when they take on Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.
