Glen Johnson has insisted that teams will be fearful about playing Liverpool at Anfield presently, following his side’s resounding 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the ground yesterday.

The Reds, who moved atop the Premier League table after the win with 71 points from 32 games, have dropped just four points in 16 league matches at the ground, plundering 48 goals in the process.

And Johnson believed that Anfield is slowly becoming a fortress for Liverpool, like it used to be previously.

The England international also lauded his side’s swashbuckling displays in the present campaign which have seen the club win a lot of matches by big margins.

"At the moment, teams definitely can't be looking forward to coming to Anfield to play", Johnson told his club’s official site.

"Three years ago, people were not so worried. But I think we're getting it back to the name and the place that people see Anfield as.

"It's what we've been doing all season. We work hard and we try to put the opposition under pressure right from the beginning.

"It just shows how hard we have been working out on the training ground and on the pitch as well.

“We have tried to make it difficult for other teams and there's days like today when you score three or four goals and it's comfortable."

Liverpool will next face West Ham, who are up against Sunderland today, at Upton Park on Sunday.

The Merseyside giants defeated the Hammers 4-1 in the corresponding fixture at Anfield in December.
