Bayern Munich are likely to be without Swiss winger Xherdan Shaqiri for Wednesday night's Champions League clash against Manchester United.

Shaqiri featured in today's 1-0 Bundesliga defeat against Bavarian rivals Augsburg, a game which ended Bayern Munich's 53-game unbeaten run in the German top flight.

He was forced off however due to a thigh injury and now is unlikely to be involved against Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola's men drew the first leg of their quarter-final 1-1 against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Shaqiri did not play at Old Trafford, but was included by Guardiola on the bench.

The Bayern Munich coach has urged his team to quickly move on from the defeat against Augsburg, commenting: "Sooner or later a defeat would occur.

"We accept it and we need to prepare as quickly as possible for Manchester United."
