Claudio Ranieri has declared himself pleased after his Monaco side put Nantes to the sword by three goals to one in Ligue 1 yesterday.

Bidding to secure second spot in the table and a Champions League place for next season, Monaco took the lead through James Rodriguez in the 18th minute before Andre Raggi doubled the side's lead in the 72nd minute.

Rodriguez then converted a penalty four minutes later before Nantes grabbed a consolation.

Monaco now have 66 points from 32 games and sit six ahead of third-placed Lille, but 13 behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

"In every game there are difficult times, but the team played well and scored three goals", Ranieri told Canal +.

"I am satisfied with the performance."

Monaco are next in action away at Rennes as they bid to continue their bid to collect as many points as possible this term.
