AC Milan boss Clarence Seedorf is delighted after his side’s 2-1 victory over Genoa on Monday and believes that the Italian club can still make it to the Europa League spots.

Currently 11th in the Serie A table, the club are five points behind a Europa League spot, the last of which is being occupied by city rivals Inter Milan.

The Rossoneri's win at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris was their third consecutive win in the Italian league and was the first time this season that club have gone unbeaten for such a stretch. Seedorf hopes that his side can continue their winning momentum in the future make it to the European tournament.

"Europe is now closer, but we still have many opponents who are fighting for that place”, the Dutchman told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We must continue to win.

“We have to be very practical: the club have set a goal for all of us and we will try to reach this goal", the 38-year-old newly-appointed manager added.

AC Milan will be looking to make a move in this direction when they take on Catania at the San Siro on Sunday and then host Livorno the following weekend.
