Philippe Mexes has insisted he wants to sign a new contract with AC Milan.

The Frenchman's current deal with the Rossoneri expires in 2015 and there has been talk of a number of clubs tracking his fortunes.

But despite Milan's lacklustre season, Mexes is not looking for the exit door or even a big final pay day.

"I have another year left on my contract and I'm going to respect it until the end", he told Sky Italia.

"I would love to stay here longer.

"I know I am already 32, but I'm not looking for money. I enjoy myself here immensely. I give the maximum every game for his club."

The centre-back has made 16 appearances in Serie A for Milan this season, as well as clocking up five games in the Champions League.
