Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp admits that it will be a miracle if his team overturn a three-goal deficit against Real Madrid in the second leg of their quarter-final tie.

Borussia Dortmund suffered a 3-0 defeat in the hands of Los Blancos in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at the Santiago Bernabeu last Wednesday.

Klopp knows the enormity of the task at hand and believes that his players will give their level best on the field and try to achieve an improbable result.

“I don't know how many miracles have been proclaimed before they happened. We don't have any right to speak about that, but we have the right to give everything tomorrow [tonight] and perform with will power”, the German told UEFA’s official site.

Klopp accepts that the odds are stacked against his team, but even if they go out of the competition, the 46-year-old believes his team will give a good account of themselves on the field.

“If we somehow get a result that takes us through, then great; if not, we want to say goodbye to the Champions League with a good performance.”

In last season’s Champions League semi-finals Borussia Dortmund handed out a 4-1 thrashing to Real Madrid in the home leg, but even if they emulate the same scoreline, Real Madrid will qualify for the semi-finals this season on the away goal rule.
