Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted that Sergio Aguero should be wary of picking up another injury, ahead of his return to action for Manchester City against the Reds.

Aguero picked up a hamstring injury against Barcelona last month, but has been declared fit to return against Liverpool on Sunday by Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini.

Rodgers claims it is a good for the spectacle of the game to have the Argentine back on the pitch, though he has warned him against overdoing things with the World Cup on the horizon.

"Yes, absolutely [it’s good to see him back]", the Liverpool manager told a press conference.

"It will obviously be difficult for him as he hasn't played many games at all", Rodgers continued.

"He'll be thinking about the World Cup.

"If he gets another injury then it sets him back again.

"But if he's fit, it's good for the supporters as clearly he's a fantastic player."
