Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is fit to take part in Sunday's crucial Premier League clash against Liverpool, Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed.

Aguero picked up a hamstring injury against Barcelona on Champions League duty in March and has been sidelined since.

But the Argentine is available for the clash at Anfield, which is being dubbed a title-decider, with Pellegrini reporting no ill effects from his involvement in training.

"Sergio is OK", Pellegrini explained to a press conference.

"He worked all week with the squad normally, so he doesn't have any problem", he added.

And the Chilean is not underestimating the importance of Aguero's return, feeling it will strike fear into the hearts of Liverpool's defenders.

"It’s very important [to have Sergio back]. He’s a top player, it’s very difficult for their defence to stop him and so it’s very important for us."

Manchester City head into the game sitting four points behind league leaders Liverpool, but boasting two games in hand on the Reds.
